An interesting realization: Blue Pearl is quiet, and unassuming, but she seems to have a tendency to speak up, to volunteer information, to poke and prod where Yellow Pearl simply serves and idolizes.
Some of it is probably just spending millennia minding this big crybaby, but…there’s a quiet kind of power, here.
Interesting.
The more I think about White Diamond’s desire to utterly control Pink Diamond both in her previous form and as Steven, the more sense it makes. We’ve only seen Steven’s powers and he’s only just beginning to get a handle on them, but imagine what he could be like at full capacity.
In The Trial it was confirmed that Rose Quartz was the only gem who had demonstrated the ability to heal broken gems. She - and Steven - also have the power to raise biological creatures from the dead (with the side effect of turning them into instant transdimensional gateways that can flick people across the universe in a blink of an eye).
It’s also implied that the Diamonds’ sweat is used in the generation of new gems and they’re siphoning gallons from YD and BD, but with single drops, Steven is already creating new lives.
And the cluster! That mess of broken and shattered fragments of souls in pain should have been nothing but a weapon of mass destruction in the Diamonds’ eyes and instead, he helped it. In doing so, he saved earth, created the largest possible pink bubble that size of the planet’s core and made a new friend who will help protect earth from any future Diamond interference.
Oh and then we have the fact he can psychically link with not just other Diamonds, but with other gems across massive distances when he’s asleep. He’s got hugely untapped potential when it comes to his mental powers, which we only saw a glimpse of in Reunited.
That’s not even touching on the fact that Steven and Pink both run on compassion and curiosity. The last thing any dictator needs is someone who questions everything and loves everything, but even more so when that threat can also win over the most brutal of weapons, convince multiple gems to defect, cure and resurrect her soldiers and earn absolute loyalty without fear.
No wonder Pink was such a threat and why White keeps shutting Steven down so hard. The nail that sticks out will be hammered in.
